Data deletion is the final stage of the data lifecycle. It ensures that data no longer needed — or whose retention period has expired — is securely, completely, and compliantly removed from systems.

Purpose

To define standardized procedures and governance principles for securely deleting data while maintaining compliance with internal policies and NIST SP 800-88.
